Antique Dutch Flemish oil painting portrait on tin study of lady with dog and nun. Continental School, possibly Dutch or Flemish. Circa 1800-50. Unsigned, artist unknown. Oil on tin. Elaborate gilt gesso frame. Depicts a lady with dog and a nun reading the Bible. Size of frame: 16.75 x 15 inches; Size of tin panel: 11.5 x 9.5 inches; Size of front portrait aperture: 10.75 x 9 inches. Weight: 896g (allow 5 kg volumetric weight once packed). Condition commensurate with age - various superficial marks & scratches and some knocks to and minor pieces missing from gesso frame (mainly at corners) but all part of its charm and character. Priced accordingly. This item is obviously delicate and the gesso frame fragile. Therefore, whilst every care will be taken to pack this item extremely well, I cannot guarantee that some pieces of plaster will not become fragmented and dislodged.
