Antique Continental oil painting portrait study of peasant boy a flower in his mouth (2 of 2). Continental School - possibly Dutch/Flemish, Belgian or German. Circa 1890. Unsigned, artist unknown. Oil on board. Ebonised frame. There is an English label on the reverse but it is not believed to be English. Size of frame: 13.25 x 11.25 inches; Size of painting: 9.5 x 7.75 inches; Size of front painting aperture: 7.75 x 6 inches. Weight: 850g (allow 3.5 kg volumetric weight once packed). Condition commensurate with age - various superficial marks & scratches, craquelure and some knocks to and pieces missing from frame but all part of its charm and character. Priced accordingly. This painting is quite sombre and melancholy and, although photographed in daylight, please understand that it is quite dark in reality.
