Antique Continental landscape oil painting study of travellers resting in the mountains. Continental School, circa 1860-90. Unsigned, artist unknown, but believed to be by Jules Worms (French, 1832-1924). Oil on oak panel. Elaborate gilt gesso frame. Depicts a small party of travellers in the mountains with dog. Size of frame: 15.5 x 13.5 inches; Size of panel: 10.25 x 8.75 inches; Size of front painting aperture: 10 x 8 inches. Weight: 1.4 kg (allow 5 kg volumetric weight once packed). Condition commensurate with age - various superficial marks & scratches with some scuffing at one edge but all part of its charm and character. Priced accordingly.
