Antique Continental Dutch oil painting study of gentlemen playing cards. Continental, Dutch School, circa 1800-50. Unsigned, artist unknown. Oil on canvas. Ebonised wooden frame. Depicts gentlemen playing cards with one player visibly cheating - could be entitled "The Card Cheat". Size of frame: 16.75 x 14.25 inches; Size of canvas: 12 x 9.5 inches; Size of front painting aperture: 11.5 x 9 inches. Weight: 1.6 kg (allow 5 kg volumetric weight once packed). Condition commensurate with age - various superficial marks & scratches and some minor knocks to the ebonised frame but all part of its charm and character. Please note the canvas has been remounted onto new canvas backing at some point in its life. Priced accordingly.
