Antique coastal marinescape seascape entitled The Storm attributed to Alexander K Branden c1870. English, circa 1870. Signed by the artist, AK Branden (British, fl 1865-1905) in bottom lefthand corner and also on plaque. Oil on panel. Gilt frame (more modern). Depicts a shipwreck in a storm. Size of frame: 15 x 12.5 inches; Size of panel: 11.75 x 10 inches; Size of front painting aperture: 11 x 8.75 inches. Weight: 888g (allow 3 kg volumetric weight once packed). Reasonable condition for its age - various superficial marks & scratches and some minor knocks to gilt frame but all part of its charm and character. Priced accordingly.
