Antique coastal landscape oil painting study of fisher folk After Shayer. English, circa 1860-80. Unsigned but thought to be After Shayer ie William Shayer, (British, 1811-1892). Oil on board. Elaborate gilt gesso frame. Depicts fisher folk on the beach. Size of frame: 18.5 x 15 inches; Size of painting: 12.75 x 9.75 inches; Size of front painting aperture: 12.75 x 9.25 inches. Weight: 1.5 kg (allow 5 kg volumetric weight once packed). Condition commensurate with age - various superficial marks & scratches, craquelure, some chips to paintwork around the perimeter and some minor knocks to frame but all part of its charm and character. Priced accordingly.
