Antique coastal landscape of fishing boats on beach (1 of 2). English, circa 1840-80. Unsigned, artist unknown. Oil on board. Elaborate gilt gesso frame (which has been regilted). Depicts fishing boats and fishermen on the beach with cliffs in the background. Size of frame: 18.25 inches square; Size of painting: 12 inches square; Size of front painting aperture: 11.25 inches diameter. Weight: 2.5 kg (allow 8 kg volumetric weight once packed). Condition commensurate with age - various superficial marks & scratches and some slight cracks to gesso frame but all part of its charm and character. Please note the frame has been regilted hence the bright appearance. Priced accordingly.
