Antique bosuns or boatswains persuader (no 2). English, dating from the early to mid nineteenth century. Used by a ship's bosun to mete out discipline. Wooden shaft and weighted with lead at each end. Size: length: 10inches. Weight: allow up to 1 kg once packed. Condition commensurate with age and use - the shaft would have originally been covered with plaited leather but this is now missing. Priced accordingly. Display item only.
