Antique bosuns or boatswains persuader

Antique bosuns or boatswains persuader. English, dating from the early to mid nineteenth century. Used by a ship's bosun to mete out discipline. The shaft is covered with plaited leather and weighted with lead at each end. There is an emblem on the end but it's tricky to make out. Size: length: 12 inches. Weight: allow up to 1 kg once packed. Condition commensurate with age and use - some wear to the ends but all part of its charm and character. Priced accordingly. Display item only.
