"Bogolan, also known as bogolanfini, is an African textile whose distinctive technique and iconography have been adapted to diverse markets and materials. The textile is indigenous to Mali, where it has been made and worn for generations" (Wikipedia). Antique piece of fabric which has softened over time. Lovely rich terracotta/burnt sienna colour). It has been sewn onto a linen/hemp sheet (Dutch, 19th Century) to make a bedspread, throw or cover, rug or wall hanging. Size of sheet: 59 x 72 inches; Size of actual mud cloth: 49 x 71 inches. Weight: allow 3 kg volumetric weight once packed. Good condition for its age - some slight fading in places but overall fine and all part of its charm and character. Priced accordingly.
