Antique French still life oil painting study of books, postcard, pen and ink signed A Magna dated 1907

£395.00

Antique French still life oil painting study of books, postcard, pen and ink signed A Magna dated 1907.

French, dated 1907.

Signed by the artist.

Oil on canvas. Gilt gesso frame.

Size of frame: 19.5 x 16 inches;

Size of canvas: 12.75 x 8.75 inches;

Size of front painting aperture: 12.25 x 8.5 inches.

Weight: 2.4 kg (allow 6 kg volumetric weight once packed).

Reasonable condition for its age - various superficial marks & scratches, some damage to canvas with a couple of repairs to reverse, some minor restoration and some knocks to and pieces missing from gesso frame but all part of its charm and character.

Priced accordingly.

Best described as faded grandeur.

A little note about shipping:

This beautiful piece is very old, and its gesso plaster frame is naturally rather delicate. We will pack it with the utmost care to help it reach you safely. That said, it’s possible that fragments of plaster may loosen in transit — this is quite normal for antique frames of this kind. By purchasing, you’re accepting this small risk when shipping by courier. Unfortunately, I’m not able to offer refunds or returns for losses of gesso that may occur in delivery.
